Recently, I had a foreign language class that just talked about 'dealing with Emotion'.
After booking the lesson, I thought about this question deeply.
But a moment later, I just asked myself another question, 'Should I really cope with it?'
As I see it, negative emotions are the common emotions throughout individuals' lives even though the whole society.
And I have never heard who has really overcome them (As a Christian, I think only Jesus Christ can overcome them, but he is God, not a common person).
So, why should I take time to cope with it?
But, should I give up myself?
Obviously not.
From my perspective, they are the normal side-effect productions in human activities.
Just like smelting gold, you would always find the wastes in the process.
However, what should I do?
Firstly, set a clear goal for myself.
Next, break it down into a group of small tasks.
Then, set a milestone to manage these tasks.
Finally, just tell me that these ones just the directions, not the deadlines.
I mean that never set a deadline to our life.
Otherwise, we would be trapped in the cycle of bad emotions.
Well, if not, I can enjoy the thing I am doing.
Perhaps sometimes I don't feel energetic nor yet confident, but I can still move forward.
I allow failure to surround me, but I'm not defeated.
So, actually I mean I allow the negative emotions to surround me, but because of the attractive goal, I am still running.
When I achieve my goal, all the negative emotions and difficulties are no longer problems.
Besides, if the negative emotions exactly affects me deeply, I would just kneel down and pray to God.
As you know, prayer is the greatest power in the world to the believers.
I would say, 'God, my real father, my truest friend, I know you are always accompanying me. Now, I need you to give me the strength and the courage to overcome them'.
He always answers my prayers and gives me the power from the bottom of my heart, and leads me to through one difficulty after another.
The existence of negative emotions is an alarm bell, reminding me that I am raising up.
And it's still a signal, telling me that it's time to come to God.
And I have tried to tell others about my difficulties, although they always give me sincere advice, but I know that they can't really understand me.
So, I just silently pray to God about my difficulties and encourage me that I can overcome them.
Overall, we can't avoid negative emotions in our journey through life. Regardless of what causes them, these emotions will be our companions along the way.
But that's what makes our journey meaningful - we face challenges, we grow, and we overcome them.
So, don't worry and don't lose courage!
Every step forward is part of your unique journey!
Kris.
